TotalDocs is designed to keep documentation close to the developer: caching happens on your device, and the optional AI assistant talks only to the Ollama server you choose.

Local documentation cacheTotalDocs stores a bundled documentation database plus any libraries you refresh, together with simple preferences such as the last page you visited per library, on your device. The app does not rely on advertising, analytics profiling, or third-party tracking SDKs.

Documentation sourceLibrary, page, and item content is read from the bundled database or fetched from docs.totaljs.com only when you open or refresh a library.

Optional local AI assistantTotalDocs can send your questions and relevant documentation snippets to an Ollama server you configure — by default a copy running on your own Mac at http://localhost:11434. This connection is local-first and optional: it is only used when you open the AI assistant, and nothing is sent to Spanish Total.js or any other third party.

Data retention and deletionCached libraries and preferences remain on your device until you refresh them, clear the cache, or remove the app. You can clear all caches at any time from Settings.

User controlYou decide which libraries to cache, when to refresh them, whether to use the AI assistant, and which Ollama server address it connects to.

What we do not doWe do not sell user data, show advertising, track you across apps or websites, or require an account to read documentation.
